International Student Conference in Memory of Károly Szladits

The conference was held under the patronage of Lajos Mészáros, the retired judge of the Slovak Constitutional Court, and its motto was “Károly Szladits as an Inspiration.”
Ten student teams participated in the conference from Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Serbia. The participants came from the Faculty of Law at Trnava University, Sapientia University in Romania, Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Miskolc University, the National University of Public Service and the Reformed University of Gáspár Károli in Budapest, the Faculty of Law at the University of Szeged, and the University of Novi Sad. Their presentations covered various topics in the history, theory, and current challenges of private law. The high professional level, rich content, and quality of the presentations confirmed our belief that Károly Szladits’ ideas are still relevant today and that his work was ahead of its time, continuing to inspire new generations.

Following the conference, a ceremonial wreath-laying ceremony took place at the statue of Károly Szladits, where participants paid tribute to his memory.
The closing event of the program was a walk through Bratislava, where students visited places connected with Szladits’ life and work.

This event provided the participants with an opportunity for professional enrichment and helped build and strengthen cross-border connections among young legal professionals in Central Europe.
